little rock
It was an interesting trip where we learned about the central high school that is a national historic site in this country. It called my attention to know how people are interesting to know more about their history, how they keep it. In my country it is rare that people have this interest of knowing more about our history sometime you ask people when was the independence of Panama from Spain? and they confuse it with the separation of Panama from Colombia. So I think that those trips to museums historical place help us as a teacher to keep our students in contact with our history in a easier way.So using all those information we can make them to share what did they learn, how was their experience, and we can put them to interact each other and practice the four skills.
I guess it is normal for people not to be that interested in their own culture and history. I am not sure how many Americans are familiar with the story of the Little Rock 9. Not too many I would say. And it is such an important chapter in the history of America. That is one trip that I really enjoy and applaud Arkansas for making that place into a museum and site of such importance.
