teaching listening
It is one of the most difficult activity in my class because we do not have good technology in our classrooms. I use my laptop and my speakers.But, it is difficult that all the students listen it. the computer lab is just for the computing teacher this classroom is adapted with good technology.If we the English teachers could have a classroom like this it would be wonderful.I do not have my own classroom I have to go to the different classrooms in those classrooms there are old tape recorder that the DVD does not function that i think are one of the limitation in my teaching context.But the technique that you put students to listen among them and after they continue talking with their classmate is good.Put the videos student listen and watch and complete. It is good they can not only to listen but also to watch and create in their mind the topic related.
It has to be difficult for you to teach listening with so many challenges. I like that you are remaining positive and trying to think of ways to accomplish listening objectives. You could also make the listening as a station activity - where 5 Ss sit around the laptop and listen while other Ss are writing or speaking quietly in other stations.
